I'd like to, e.g., get a register report for my checking account showing transactions this month but have the running total balance be the actual running total balance of the account as a whole, not just this month.
ledger register CheckingAccount --begin=2015/05/01 shows transactions from this month, but the running total is just the running total of the transactions displayed. legister register CheckingAccount --tail 20 does what I want with regard to the running total/balance but is not date bound so I have to guess the appropriate number of transactions to display. Is there a way to tell register "for the initial amount of the running total, use the running total from the beginning of time until just before the beginning time period of this report" ?
