I used to use the "bean-bake" tool to zip up an archive of a particular period to static HTML files and sent that to my accountant, did this for a number of years for my own little contracting / training business at the time. I think any accountant should be able to browse to a web view of balance sheet and income statement and journals and click their way to find all necessary numbers, but it's best if you summarize the important bits for them anyway. They're usually really busy and have little time to spend on any one client, it's a bit like dentists, it's a volume business.
The main thing is that you have to explain is that we don't use Cr/Dr, and that we use signed values instead. I have an item on my TODO list to add an option to render the numbers in the web view to Cr/Dr format for that specific reason (there's no reason we could not render reports in that way).
