It's not being actively developed, but it most certainly has not been abandoned. If you want quick response from the maintainers, then beancount and hledger will give you a better experience. But C++ Ledger is here to stay, as I intend to keep using it for my finances for the rest of my life, at least until hledger replaces its functionality to a similar degree.
