Assume this data file:

~ Monthly
    Expenses:Food 100
    Assets:Checking

2016/01/01 Initial state
    Assets:Checking 150
    Equity

2016/01/15 Grocery
    Expenses:Food 20
    Assets:Checking

The output for ledger -f example.dat r assets --forecast "T>={0}" is:

16-Jan-01 Initial state Assets:Checking 150 150
16-Jan-15 Grocery Assets:Checking -20 130
16-Feb-01 Forecast transaction Assets:Checking -100 30

(when running it on January 2016)

I’d like the forecast to also consider the spendings for the current month
- so I’d expect there to be a “Forecast Transaction” of -80 for January.
How can I make that happen?

(I’m using Ledger 3.1.1-20150915)
