One of things I am really enjoying about ledger is being able to encode certain assertions about my journals in git pre-commit hooks, that makes sure certain kinds of things stay true. Things like "food transactions are always tagged" or "my bank account only has USD transactions".
I'd like to make add a new assertion to my books. I'd like to make assertions about the balance of accounts in relation to eachother. More concretely, I'm using an envelope-esque system, and as a form of triple checking, I'd like an assertion like "assert Assets = -(CreditCards + Budgets)". That assertion would be something like "I've budgeted all my money and not double budgeted anything" Is this possible in ledger? I could write a script to do it externally, but it is nice to have things in ledger itself. -Mike Cooper -- --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ledger" group.
