I'm not sure which simulation you tried. The actual app on the phone works 
quite well. See below.

Most of my transactions, when outside, are like that. There is a widget 
that opens the New Transaction screen. Finding the Payee by typing the 
first 2-3 characters is fairly quick. Add the fact that the app will 
auto-populate the last used category, which is correct in 90+% of the cases 
and all that's left is to enter the amount and tap Save.

Absolutely. That's the idea. If you have time, Cashier is approximately at 
a demo state. You can try it out. Any suggestions for usability 
improvements are welcome. The point is to have a simple and accessible GUI 
for creating transaction records.
