The purpose of that conditional is to see if the submitted form is using
a select widget or a text box.
You should be able to get around things like this as well as your
selectvendor=1 trick:
vc=vendor&
vendor=K-L MANUFACTURING&
vendor_id=10349&
oldvendor=K-L MANUFACTURING--10349&
