To a Brit the "unable to post without printing" requirement makes  
perfect sense. It is the logical and clearly "right" way of doing  
things.

About 10 years ago I used to work for a courier company, which took  
by telephone between 400 & 2000 (during the course of my employment)  
job bookings each day. Of course, not each job was invoiced  
separately but nevertheless, in a cupboard was a dot-matrix printer  
which printed the details of every job as it was committed to the  
system, just in case of computer failure.
