I'm using 8.3 right now. Chris Travers helped me convert from SQL-Ledger to 
LSMB 
1.216 last week, and a fair amount of SQL was needed to make the change over. 
So 
  far there have been zero issues with 8.3 although I have to admit there are 
large parts of LSMB that I don't use. YMMV.

I think the embargo on LSMB/Postgresql 8.3 has more to do with lack of testing 
than any known issues. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
