With your late entry :)
we can raise the "Prefer Plain Text" but "Multipart is Fine" count to 3.

The newbies are why I suggested that maybe we should have a note about the 
preference to send in plain text (or at lease unformatted html) on the signup 
pages.

Does your client not dynamically wrap the text in a HTML email?
I thought that was one of the things about HTML, it was supposed to dynamically 
wrap text as the window size changed, well, unless <pre> tags or some other 
type 
of specific formatting is applied.
