Hi,

Just a quick update on how the list move went.

We now have 139 members with a steady trickle of people subbing each day. I particularly didn't want to do a mass subscription based on the addresses I had as I couldn't confirm whether they were dormant or not.

The current providers are Green Net who are at http://www.gn.apc.org/ and who are the "ethical Internet Service Provider that has been connecting people and groups who work for peace, the environment, gender equality and human rights since 1986". The main reason I went with them was because they are a not for profit organisation and on the basis that we were going to be paying someone I'd rather give them £60 a year rather than some telecoms company.

If anyone wants to contribute to the list costs you can do so via paypal. There's a donate button at the bottom of the list information page at http://www.leedslist.net .

I've added the list to Dr Gary's Leeds United Webring and if anyone else has any ideas about where the list might be advertised/promoted feel free to do so.

The public list archives are on the web at: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ and the earlier zetnet list archive is at: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ . The mailman programme also provides a web archive at: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/pipermail/leedslist/

Onwards and upwards eh?

Betty
