On Match of the Day, we saw he had a great chance to make it 2-0. He broke away
from his own half, 2 on 1. Cahill was steaming through the middle, but Beckford
opted to fake the pass and try to go on his own. The defender was just waiting
for him, and took it off him like taking candy from a baby. He probably said
"You're not in the 3rd Division anymore, son" as he did so. Shortly after that,
the caption came up: EVERTON SUB.........SAHA ON/BECKFORD OFF.

The reporter covering the game live yesterday for the beeb was full of priase
for Beckford when I saw it, saying he was leading the line well on his own,
impressing & looking dangerous.

Moyes would say that though wouldn't he?

He also said that they had a blunt attacking edge and that they'd missed a

lot of chances and should have scored at least two in the first half.

The BBC described him as a peripheral figure and I don't recall the

commentator on MOTD being too complimentary either.

But then again, I would be as negative as Moyes is positive, wouldn't I?
