As I see it, the team selection for tonight is a bit of a conundrum. I understand (and I hope it's true, despite the apparently deleterious effects of last season's cup shenanigans) that we are officially taking this competition seriously. Which means a strongish line-up and not too many changes. Also, the XI that started the last 2 games have been improving by the minute and it we be good for that process to continue. Against that, there would be obvious benefits to a) resting a couple of players if they have niggles, and/or b) giving the returning suspendees some gametime.
So how to balance all that? I think Somma has got to start after Satdy. Problem is, as little as i know him, I get the impression he is not the tear-about-like-a-maniac type of striker who will do a good job up front on his own, so replacing Becchio may not be a good option. >But Watt apparently played his best game on Sat, so another game now would allow him to develop his confidence even more. Gradel surely also has to play at some point. And I think Bruce should be given a go, esp considering the dodgy form of Naylor. So my lineup would be: Schmeichel Connolly Bruce Collins White Sam (subbed by Max at h-t) Killer Howson Johnson Somma Watt (sub Becchio or Grella h-t) _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] MARCHING ON TOGETHER
