Barry was not very good, and neither was Cole, but the glaring problem AGAIN, and it has been the case ever since before the WC, was the atrocious performance of Rooney! Whether it is his private life or what I don't know, but he has metamorphosed into a fat crap twat (from the fat brilliant twat he used to be). The amazing thing is that everybody is in denial about it. Commentators and especially analysers never mention it, and Capello, for all his supposed tough-guy persona, is obviously afraid to drop or sub him. When Davies was warming up, I was crying out for him to replace Rooney, even though I knew that it was Crouch who would be getting the bullet. For a while, before the WC, I could understand the viewpoint that he was bound to rediscover his form soon, and we just had to be patient with him because he was our best hope. But it has gone way past that stage now. He is a downright liability, and should be dropped until he is banging them in again for the Red Drivel (a lthough he might struggle to get a game with them - even though Taggart also seems to be afraid of him.) _____
