The EPL has been made into an astounding money machine, there is no
doubt about that, however at what cost, the cost of the national team?

Is part of the problem that most english teams are in fact not really
english anymore. The best teams have got a few english players in
them, in some instances
close to none. Add to that that they are managed by foreign managers.
How far down the league system before you find a team that has got a
majority of english players and is lead by an english manager? Then
again its been a while since 1966 and the EPL has only existed since
early 90s, and in its current financial strength less than that. So
maybe
the EPL cannot be blamed?

Mind you, most leagues in europe these days have got the same
"problem" as the one I am referring to. So Im not sure that is the
problem really.

Im confused, thats obvious :-)
