Some more thoughts on the debacle last night and scores on the doors. I've
reflected and I think the first half is the worse performance under Grayson and
a contender for the worse in my 35 years of watching Leeds.
Brown - 3. Too fat.
Connelly - 3. Put himself about a bit but is suffering from the car crash that
is our back 4.
McCartney - 2. I thought he was terrible last night, nothing going forward (not
helped by Snodgrass) and defensively he was shaky, having to be ridiculously
helped out by Somma in the second half.
Naylor / Collins - 1. I know Naylor is taking all the stick because he's making
the big, obvious mistakes but I firmly believe that's because Naylor puts
himself on the line more than Collins. Collins sits back . sometimes so deep
that Naylor doesn't actually know who he is marking because there's too many
unmarked players. Naylor is a better defender than Collins however I do think
Naylor is reaching the end of the line.
Snodgrass - 2. I thought he looked fat and slow.
Faye - 0. That's one of the worse performances ever. He didn't do owt until
about 55 mins when he put in a challenge that resulted in a free-kick. Not fit
enough by a mile and is only in the team because Grayson doesn't believe in his
defence.
Howson - 3. Did nothing first half - tried second but not nearly good enough.
Watt - 0. Horrible night for the lad, dragged off after 30 mins to be replaced
by Johnson. What was that all about Simon ? Maybe he wasn't fit.
Somma - 4. Showed a few good touches but was played on the left wing for most
of
the game which actually resulted him playing left back. One of Grayson's worse
decisions ever.
Becchio - 5. The only player that could actually say he did his job due to his
goal which was a decently taken headed effort. Playing on his own up front
though is madness - he only wins 10-20% of his headers and when he does there's
nobody to get on to them. Very frustrated at his general play though - he adds
nothing to the team. I think its sad that he is now the first name on our
teamsheet.
Subs:
Gradel - 7. Almost changed the match for us.
Johnson - 3. Poor.
Kilkenny - 6. Did more in 20 mins than Faye did in the other 70.
