It seems to me, from afar and not having been to any games this season (but
seen 3 or 4 on telly), that the problem is way more than Collins. We don't seem
to have ANY fit defenders who can, er, defend! Connolly, Bruce, Naylor,
Collins, Hughes, Bessone & McC have, at one time or another, all looked
hopelessly inept, both individually and collectively.

Bromby and the lad who started out at RB last season whose name inexplicably
has eluded me at the mo both seem way out of favour (although it is hard to
imagine they could do much worse than the above shower.) Crowe, of course!

The only solution I can think of, short of picking up a few shit-hot teenagers
from some PL team#s academy on loan, is:

1. Get bloody Scmeichel fit sharpish.
2. As I have suggested before, didn't Faye play CB at some point in his past
life? Get him in instead of Collins.
3. Pair him with Bromby in the middle.
4. Maybe stick with Connolly at RB, or try Crowe.
5. Play Johnson at LB.
6. Try Clayton holding in MF, with Kilkenny pulling the strings.
7. Employ a witch doctor to speed up Paddy's recovery.

P.S. Clutching at straws Department: I don't suppose we have got any brilliant
young neo-Woodgates of our own who could be fast-tracked into the 1st team?

I'm still amazed that Collins appears to be hiding from all the criticism.
Naylor is taking the brunt because at leas the doens't hide. As you say Dave,
there was one bad mistake which he chased back 50 yards and won the ball back
-
I've never seen Collins do that. All he does is stand off players, hide and
point at others. A really poor player in my book and surely by a process of
elimation Grayson will finally tie some of out defensive frailities to
Collins.

I'm losing a bit of faith in Grayson.

Quick update on previous e-mail (attached. Discussion on WACCOE attributing
16
(yes sixteen) goals to Dickie & Liddie. Naylor 7 and Collins 9.
