To me, during the game (much more so when I am there as opposed to listening on
radio etc)  then the game is ALL that matters in the world- it is the ONLY
thing. All my other problems / worries / cares etc are fogotten for those 90
mins. And so I can well understand the emotions.
Once the game is over however it does revert to being 'just a game'- how long
that takes , it may be days or only a few minutes, will depend on what else is
going on in my life and obviously the importance of the game itself. Defeats of
course linger longer as a rule than victories. So I agree with the vitriol in
match reports written soon after by the likes of RIch and understand fully
where he is coming from
I may be mental but I subscribe both to the "more important than life and
death" and it "is only a game"  ideas
