Well I did not expect us to get anything out of this game and how right I was.
I always felt that they had too much pace and skill for us, and that even
to get a draw, we would have to play to our best ability.Like everyone I was
pleased to see Kasper back and was reasonably impressed with the line up- Bruce
to give us some mobility at CH and Johnson and Snoddy the best wingers we have,
so far as providing cover is concerned. Add to that Faye in midfield and we had
quite a solid look to us. Unfortunately I had put aside the fact that Faye is
so far past it and so off the pace that we may as well  not have him on the
pitch. Add to that, the fact that we are prone to individual errors- errors
which we may have got away with last season but which result in goals in this
Division,- and that we have mini collapses in games (Barnsley and Preston both
scored a lot of goals in a very short space of time) and I suppose what
followed was inevitable.
After a shaky start we took control of most of the play without really creating
but then a huge kick from their keeper which should have been easily dealt
with, found Bruce and Kasper messing it up and bang 0 1. We continued to press
and in most respects this was a much better performance than Leicester but
another error - this time a slip by Somma on half way line led to a ball over
the top and a race between their forward and our defender and bang 0 2, game
over. We then followed this with the all too common collapse and a mistake by
Snoddy lost the ball and they moved quickly to our end - 0 3. Then a one in a
lifetime shot left Kasper stranded and that was that 0 4. We huffed and puffed
a bit, Nunez with an exciting little cameo, Max coming on and causing a few
problems and an offside nicely headed 'goal' from Becchio was all we could
muster.
A few anti Grayson shouts and a few boos greeted the final whistle but the
majority of fans who stayed for the full 90+mins gave the team their support
and backing. It was a big improvement on Leicester, we tried hard but were
beaten by a much better and brighter team and let down once again by individual
errors.
Not sure what else SG can do - drop Faye is one obvious thing but the
fundamental flaws will remain - we are very much mid table 6 points from both
relegation and play offs but with 3 home defeats on the bounce and 12 conceded
in 3 home games things could be    slipping badly into decline. We need to pick
up 4 points at least on our travels at Scunny and Coventry - both winnable
games, to steady the ship before the visit of Hull and we need clean sheets
