Abortion is allowed in Queensland. You are talking about a legal splitting
of hairs. You are correct abortion is illegal per se, however, if in the
opinion of your doctor, going full term and giving birth would be
detrimental to a women's health, then an abortion is allowed.
 The definition of detrimental to a women's health is extremely broad and
extends to her psychological or financial well being. Effectively all
abortions are allowed if done through the correct channels.
Perhaps, what you are alluding to is a recent case where a couple illegally
imported an abortion drug and carried out the process without medical
guidance or advice.
