This whole contract rebel saga is very bizarre.

Of the 3 players who haven't signed, the attention they are getting seems to be
in inverse proportion to their abilty and/or value to the team!

BJ is getting the most coverage, and whilst I don't think he is as bad as some
people make out, he is certainly not one of our major players. He has a
powerful, although wildly erratic left foot, he is a big lad, and at 24 he
perhaps has the potential to develop. I was at the Norwich game and watched him
carefully. For two thirds of the game, I thought he played the holding MF role
well, winning headers and keeping possession with simple 5 yd one touch passes,
but towards the end he got overambitious and whenever he tried anything clever
he gave the ball away. I would like to keep him as a squad player, but he
certainly shouldn't be one of the highest earners at the club. If some daft PL
manager will give us money for him............take it.

As for Luciano..............well, so much has been written about him on this
list that there is not much more to say. The big difference between him and
Johnson is that he is keeping some pretty promising players out of the team. He
has scored a lot of goals, but who is to say that Paynter or McC wouldn't have
scored them (or more) if they had been picked? I would reach pretty well the
same conclusion about him...........I hope he stays, but if Forset or someone
offer 1m quid...........take it.

Nothing seems to be said about Kilkenny, but to my mind he is by far the most
important of the 3. Not only is he a pivotal player now, but I feel that if and
when we move further up the ladder, he will become more and more important. WE
MUST KEEP HIM. Pay him whatever it takes!

P.S. Just watching Arse. They really need to finish top of their group, because
it would be really tough for them to get drawn against one of the top European
clubs after they were paired with Leeds United in the FA Cup!
P.P.S. Any Aussies on the list tonight? 1,100 and odd for 6!
