I'm a moderately regular Madrid > Dublin Ryanair user, and I would say that the problem is less and less with Ryanair more the airports that can't handle holiday periods... the "surprise" and ire of having to pay admin, on-line checkin etc is really only what you pay with the other airlines it's just they don't itemize it. My only real complaint is the noticeably less legroom...
By the way for anyone who has not seen it, that film (Der Untergang => The Downfall) is absolutely brilliant, truly compulsive & scary viewing... as is "The Lives of Others", another german cracker.
