Terry's Alltime! Oh no...............sadly closed down years ago.
A few years back, I arrived at Waterloo station on a beautiful June morning,
and decided to walk to K's Cross for my train to the North. As I walked, I
developed a growing urge for a good old English breakfast..............but
every bloody cafe I passed was some poncey foreign place offering croissants or
paninis or some such. Eventually, up a back street somewhere behind Covent
Garden, I finally found a proper cafe. I went in and ordered a delicious plate
of sausage, egg, chips & beans. After devouring it, I went to the counter to
pay. I had enjoyed it so much, I felt constrained to give the bloke a little
speech about how much I had been looking forward to a good old classic English
breakfast, and how hard it had been to find one. " It was such a relief to
eventually find a traditional English cafe!" I concluded.
The bloke, looking a bit bemused, responded "Grazi."
