Naughty Peter, honest as ever. "FORMER Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has appeared in court charged over last season's Golden Ticket scheme. Mr Ridsdale faces two charges under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and one under the Fraud Act 2006. The criminal charges have been brought against Mr Ridsdale, who stood down as Cardiff City chairman in May 2010, by Cardiff council's Trading Standards department.
The Golden Ticket scheme was announced in December 2009, offering Bluebirds fans who buy season tickets early a full refund in the event of promotion to the Premier League. The club also promised to spend the proceeds on players in the January 2010 transfer window. On January 27, 2010, a statement was published on Cardiff City's website saying no new players would be bought."
