The problem with signing players on a Bosman is their wages. There's no transfer fee involved, so the players demand higher pay. So you blow your wage structure out of the water. Hopefully some of these have had a dose of reality, and would take lower wages to keep playing. But as we've seen, there are plenty of cash-rich prem clubs prepared to go shit or bust to stay there, and they'll outbid us for the likes of Gabbidon etc. Interestingly this seems to be the Sullivan/Gold plan for West Ham - spend big to try and bounce back. May not be as easy as they think.
