Totally agree - we just need to stiffen up the central midfield and get
a stable centre back pairing, otherwise we're in decent shape.

Of course, the above is easier said than done but whilst we all would
like a host of new top drawer signings every close season, the last
number of years have shown that:

- players have literally no loyalty at all to their clubs
- no player is bigger than the club and if they go, we just get others
in and those that arrive WANT to be there

Furthermore, transfer fees beyond the Premier League is fast
disappearing as a concept so the fact that money has not changed hands
should not be seen as a bleak situation.

The way I see it, we have 4 players who we can count as, to all intents
and purposes, new signings already on our books. maybe 4 and a half.

Kisnorbo, Lees, Clayton & Nunez............plus maybe White, although he
didn't exactly set Oldham Athletic alight. if we can hiold onto
Grodgrass and Snadel, I think we are already in reasonable shape.

XI v Southampton:

Schmiecs

Connoly Kis Lees White

Snods Howson Clayton Max

Becchio McC

Subs: Nunez, Somma

That looks OK to me.
