Whilst it would be of some interest in find out who owns and owes what to who,
before we start thanking the new elected tory boy, a small quote from the
Kentish press "Figures released by the Independent Parliamentary Standards
Authority (Ipsa) reveal that Mr Collins claimed for three lots of £1,450 to
cover his rent while leasing out a property belonging to his wife." that's just
in the first three months of the current parliament.

His explanation is along the lines of "I can't live in our second home in
London and claim the rent as that would be used by my wife to pay the mortgage
she has on the property (breaking the government rules), therefore despite
owning a perfectly serviceable home in London we rent that to someone else
(anyone care to bet another Tory MP) so they pay the mortgage and I am able
rent an additional second home at taxpayers expense (and probably pay the rent
to another Tory)."

And they say KFB is on the fiddle :-)

I imagine that the train of thought is that it will be short term pain for
long term gain.
Personally, though, I can't see why we aren't revering - Ken Bates, Saviour
of Leeds United.

Cheers
