Strange to say but found myself thinking about the evil one. The bottom line is that he is a cunt and out for his own ends but..........................
On the one hand............. The way he behaved in acquiring re-acquiring our club shows a savagery and determination beyond the call of decency and acceptability. He has no qualms about bending the rules and laws. In fact he seems to enjoy and prefer doing so. In my experience when things get bent often they get broken too. He also has an affinity to harm and hurt people with a vengeance -- in every sense. In short I would not sell him anything and certainly not buy anything from this out and out rogue. On the other hand................. He has shown a clear understanding of modern day management of a club. He sets clear and very realistic parameters and is consistent in his application. He allows his mangers to manage and sacks them at opportune moments when needed. His transfer policy has been correct. Witness his decision in acquiring and selling Schmeikel. Getting a million plus was a stroke of genius. Seemingly [read Eddie Gray & Matteo] he was not part of the solution but part of the problem. He 'allowed' Beckham to stay because he was irreplaceable. His pricing of Snodgras was spot on. I am sure if Gradel goes it will be done with a clear head and to our advantage. He is investing' rightly, in the ground and stewarding [indirectly] his idea to build up the ER complex. We are not in debt. In short when the bastard goes, over the long run, he will have done well for himself and us. No one can argue with me that 'you can't have one without the other'. To be a good manager and businessman you don't have to be a shit of the highest magnitude. In more complex term I admire his acumen and experience. I loath his behavior and brutality. His behavior added nothing and detracted a lot. But I prefer a 'bastard I understand' to ' an angel who I don't understand'.
