This is really bad news. Even if he comes back in January, he won't have had 
the benefit of pre-season and so will likely play only cameo roles at best this 
season. When you consider that Becchio - our top scorer last season - is also 
injured at the moment (and therefore also missing pre-season) that means that 
we're left with McCormack and Paynter as strikers, with Nunez, Gradel and 
Snodgrass as attacking midfielders.

It all raises a couple of very obvious questions/issues:

- Will Grayson now go back into the market for a striker (I don't see how he 
can't, frankly)? If so, will that reduce his ability to bring in defenders and 
central midfielders?

- Is there something systemically wrong with the club's approach to pre-season 
training? We seem to start every season with up to half a team's worth of 
players absent through injury.
