I was the same, couldn't see the point, thought it was like facebook status updates but decided to start one for work as a way to boast about our stuff to people and got hooked (@tvetuk if anyone's interested) then set up my own.
Start off by following all the football jounos, henry winter, paddy Barclay, andy dunn etc... then things like BBC, Sky, AlJazeira breaking news then have a look who they follow and you can pick up some interesting stuff. I occasionally follow the odd celeb if something good is happening and most of the sky sports news female presenters (Hayley McQueen is the best - in more ways than one) Obviously then you look at scratching shed, square ball, officiallufc etc... for the most important stuff The real plus of it was when the world cup draw was taking place. 5 mins before the announcement my timeline was filled with we haven't won the Russians have tweets. On match days if I have no radio #twitterwhites is a godsend I think part of the thing about twitter is the stupid name for postings tweets! It puts people off. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Lee Jones Sent: 21 July 2011 10:54 To: Errand Fivefold Cc: Leeds List Subject: Re: [LU] Google+ Just go onto twitter.com and type in #lufc or #twitterwhites and see all the Leeds banter. Then register and join in. Really good fun on matchday with all the realtime tweets of events during the game...
