Had a good chat with an old mate yesterday, r.e. LUFC, he was definitely
of the 'glass half full' brigade and me not so. However, I have to say he
did leave me feeling a little bit more optimistic about where we are at
the moment, so, with very cautious little steps, I'll put his case to the
panel to see what you all reckon!
(BTW he told me yesterday when I asked him about Stockdale, that the deal
was "Dead, I think Lonergan is back on the cards")

1). Kisnorbo is back, if he stays fit a combination of him, O'Brien and
Lees will be a very strong CB partnership at this level with a decent
keeper behind them. Clayton - he watched him play a coupel of times last
season and reckons he's a far better player than when he was, briefly,
here last time. Brown is exactly what we've been crying out for in
midfield and is better at this level than Kilkenny, who is too
lightweight. Nunez gained rave reviews at Scunny (At Championship level)
and, looks to have got now up to speed with the English game by being on
loan (It worked for Beckford!). So, Yes, we still need to see one or maybe
two additional signings, possibly Lichaj if he'd come and A.N.Other in
midfield.

2). He doesn't think much to ANY of the Leicester signings, and that they
paid way over the odds for most of them. Looking at the deals, would we
have (At the price paid) any of them at ER? Konchesky did nowt at Forest
last season, Matt Mills is good, but not £5,000,000 good!, Danns, ST
Ledger and Nugent are journeymen and spending all that money helps the
likes of us as it focuses attention on them.

I'm not convinced, but it was a very positive spin on where we are! Any
thoughts?
