I don't normally go in for tactical analysis, if I'm honest it's the beer and the crack that I enjoy most about footie, but it seemed to me that Soton doubling up on Gradel and Snoddy is what nullified our attack. Every time either Max or Robert got the ball, there were always two or even three Southampton players right in their face. I don't know how they did it but they always seemed to have more men where our man in possession was than we ever did in return. Without any service to Howson or McCormack, or later Paynter, they couldn't do much. There isn't a striker in teh world that can score a goal if he never gets the ball. DRB The rest were very poor.
