Ahh, McCole, remember him well, but incredibly he wasn't universally popular
at the time; dug out my List Digest archive from 1960 and here's a
selection;

"Bloody McCole, the idiots around me in the shed chanting his name, but he's
nowt but a shite workhorse with no skill and no positional sense"  

"OK so McCole got the winner on 89 minutes, but it was lucky, it got a
deflection of their centre half"  

"just having him in the squad drags us down to pub football level"


I'd get my Archive from 1932 as well, but the blacksmith is reanodising the
copper cylinder.
