I was there. I haven't the eagle eye or football knowledge of our other afficiendos. It was freezing. The crowd were great. My overriding impression was that we have good players, a poorer team than it should be and I have lost belief in the manager. More details: The goalie did not impress Conally and Snodgrass are footballers Snodgrass was moved inside and impressed. His attitude is captain material. White and Lees are players with a future. Pugh is passable as is Clayton. I like Keogh, Bechio is exasperating, sometimes not bad sometimes I understand Rich Walker. Howson is a conundrum for me. But then I neither like or admire Gerrard and Lampard. I Don't really know what Howson adds. I know that playing him restrains a lot of players. On today's showing I would like Snodgrass in Howsons position. That leads me to Brown. what exactly was he doing? I'd like Kisnoboro dropped not just I'll never spell his name but also he scares me and can ruin Lees. Grayson's substitutes were bizarre. It changed the whole shape. Not that was much before. But when most players were playing in positions that were 'natural' to them we got five minutes of football. Having scored twice we lost some of that. Mind you Becchio ruined the move of the match. Went away feeling that there is no way this lot goes up. We are an above average second division team. Just what we are aspiring for. Went away thinking that White, who is and never will be Giggs, Snodgras & Lees will be flogged off pretty soon to build the Stoats folly. As will Howson. The only thing that will turn this round is Smith for Brown and to get a box to box midfielder. Ended the game with a visit LGI which ended with nothing remarkable apart from an hours walk from ER to LGI. And a four hour wait.
