In my opinion, on yesterday's showing, the players who "will never play for Leeds again" (Grayson quote) would be definitely Connoly and probably Paddy. Altho I've always liked Paddy, I'm afraid he's had his day.
Thought Pugh was shite too but can't see Larry getting rid or not signing him. Becchio's late goal papered over any cracks, he looks nothing to what he used to, even if u thought he looked something to start with. Even for a Leeds optimist like me, yesterday's performance was a diabolically poor embarrassment. Shocking in all departments. I'd give slight exceptions to Nunez, White and even Brown - but that's me being kind. And probably the keeper kept it down to four. The tunnel at Barnsley is at the end where us 5.5K Leeds fans were - interesting to see the players and Larry walk off with heads bowed while some fans clapped but the majority booed. Only one player clapped back, not sure who but it might have been O'Dea. Becchio didn't even loiter on the pitch shaking hands etc, he trotted straight off. I'm sorry for Grayson, he's improved us each season and there's still time this season if he's given decent financial backing by Bates. Can't see it myself. We'll probably be in for lots of players but won't offer the going rate for our position and lose out to clubs with more money, say Bristol or Donny ;-) We'll sign Pugh, and Somma will be seen as a new signing! I fear if we lose tmrw, Grayson will be axed. Wrongly in my opinion. Let's hope he signs a couple, or three, decent team players (not squad) as soon as possible and we turn it around on Monday with 3 well needed points. As my mate said, if or when Bates sacks Larry, he will probably take the cheap option and promote Snodin - who else is he gonna be able to pay peanuts? I feel the vast majority of fans are behind Grayson, and feel he's done his best with limited resources. Whether its enough to save him tho is another thing. A young Leeds fan as manager is always top of my list, not some old (probably Chelscum) has-been. Well, another good day out spoiled by a game of footy, Leeds United don't deserve their great away support, 2nd to none in my opinion. The cracks are showing tho, lots of talk of people giving up, especially not renewing season tickets. Dismiss us at your peril Bates. How can that level of support "put off investors"?! Ted H Bates out, Grayson DEFINITELY in. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
