It's been SO frustrating this season watching the weekly MOTD (Whilst trying to stay awake for the ridiculously late Football League show) watching a distinctly average Man U sneak a 1-0 win week after week, knowing deep down that they are a shadow of their former selves. The Liverpool model of throwing money at players to replace the likes of Van Der Sar, Scholes, Giggs (I know he's still playing but nowhere nea the player he was) etc. ~Never succeeds and I honestly would not be suprised if they finished 4th or 5th (Lower would just be greedy ... but VERY rewarding!) Spurs ae a far better team at the moment, but no strength in depth. The winter months will, I eckon, see Man City run away with it because they do have strength in depth. The thinness of squads at the top is the first sign of the reality check that is desperately needed in football. We'll see more of the likes of Anelka and potentially Drogba buggering off to the new money in the far east over the next few seasons I reckon. Maybe, justt maybe, the shift of power can lean slightly towards some sense?
