Have to jump in here with Heathy, and yes, I believe that the Arse won with a goal that came from a player clearly half a yard offside.
He'd stopped moving, knowing he was offside, but then thought he'd take a chance - started moving, tapped it past Lonny, and went mental cos he got away with it! Watched it on Setanta, and I agree that they didn't want to spoil the fairytale finish that everyone thought was going to happen - especially if it did highlight the obvious offside OzPete -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Robert Heath Sent: Tuesday, 10 January 2012 4:15 PM To: Mark Smith Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LU] v arse Were we great, or were we awful? We were great, of course..............a splendid gutsy performance from a weakened team. Lees & Clayton were superb. Vayrenen had a great first half but went completely wonky after halftime. I have the same infuriating question that we all had after other sterling cup performances of recent years.............if we can keep Arse at bay, how do we let the likes of Barnsley score 4 against us? I actually thought Becchio played well. He won a lot of headers, flicking them on to nobody, b/c there was nobody there (not his fault.), and on the ground his movement was good and his touch was a lot better than I have seen it in the past. We weren't playing with 10 men b/c of Becchio's shortcomings..............we were playing with 9 1/2 b/c Nunez was atrocious, and Townsend Thoresen was terrible. I can't believe nobody is asking the question about offside for Henry's goal? They showed one replay at the right angle, at normal speed, and then never showed it again. At that speed, it looked like he may have been half a yd offside. I wonder why they didn't show it properly in slowmo and stop action? It couldn't be that they didn't want to spoil their beautiful Thierry story could it? I didn't watch the post-match coverage...............does anybody know if this was dealt with then? _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
