I can never understand those that seem to accuse howson of getting favour for being from leeds, seems to me he actually gets half the plaudits he deserves because of it. It's easy for neutrals and other clubs to notice that howson is clearly (with snoddy) our best player, its noticeable that Leeds have won only 1 game in his absence, Clayton looks a shadow of the player of the first few game and without howson doing the work alongside him. Yes he hasnt scored as much this season but hes been asked to cover the cracks of a team full of average to poor, inconsistent frees and loans, there is no one else in the leeds side who does as much tracking back, covering and pushing forward creating space.
Who can blame a player that has seen all the other half talented players leave in recent seasons (Gradel, johnson, Delph, Schmeicel, and some would argue kilkenny) and probably knows that any remaining ones with any talent (snoddy) or even potential (white, clayton, lees) will soon be off when bates refuses to offer anymore than any of the clubs hoping to go up will offer. Leeds is a club with no ambition and where we sell any decent player then replace them with loans frees and has beens. Why would you stay at a club that has noticably got a weaker squad than last season no one regardless of their opinion on the players can say that kilkenny johnson and gradel are significantly better than brown, vrynenn nunez/sam. Leeds are a mid table side at best this year with the quality of players available to grayson yet a ridiculous amount of fans expect playoffs or more. I am absolutley gutted but will always remember the curler that put us back in the game and eventually after beckford scored got us out of league 1. BATES OUT!
