First of all, don't knock Warnock looking after his mates (presumably) - a bit of loyalty can go a long way in football. Just thank God that he didn't bring in O'Hare to shore up our defence ;)
Secondly I think that we are surely paying Warnock to get some "added value" out of the players we've already got rather than giving him a mission to go out into the transfer market to buy our way up. After all, poor old Simon Grayson was sacked after the transfer window not before - all in all a cynical bit of manipulation if ever I've seen one, and one that seems to have worked like a dream for Bates.
