POP!
That is the sound of the Warnock bubble bursting

SSSSSSS
That is the optimism and recent good feeling around ER leaking away.
This was awful - a real throughback to the Grayson era at its worst. I did ask
pre match whether things had really chaged or whether things were the same as
before when a couple of good results and performances are interspersed with
real dross (Barnsley 5 2 - Preston 4 6)
In fact just like the Preston result it does not sound like a football score -
which other match in history ended up 3 7 ?
I suppose it was better than Preston in that we were never 3 goals up, but
there were 2 times when I thought we would win (1-0 and 3-3). Forest had hit
the post in the first minute with a snap shot but we then took control and wen
ahed when Ross was fouled in the box - he made the most of the tackle the way
he fell over but it was a pen. Then just as we were starting to look
comfortable a quick break ended with as good a finish as you will ever see -
the lad lashed into the net . I bet it is the best goal he has ever scored.
Then just on halft time WE had a corner , THEY scored , with a quick breakaway.
Never mind we were still in it, Then early 2nd half a straight forward cross to
the back post , and we showed nothing has changed as the striker nodded home
almost unchallenged. Then a fightback - a good move ended with Behio (doing
well at the monet) fired home from close range, and then a minute later Brown
hit one with the outside of his right boot and
it ent into the corner 3-3.
Surely we would go on and win it now - at home against a struggling team who
had thrown away a 2 goal lead !
But no the craziness contiued - a good shot from the edge of the area, another
cross was banged in after we failed to deal with it, Pugh got skinned for
another and the last one they hit a ball over the defnece and the forward
showed more pace and commitment than Lees, 3 -7
Overall a crazy game - 5 goals in the first 15mins of the second half.
I am sorry to say I was right that Brown cannot play 2 games in 3 days and also
I was right to ask whether things had changed - they haven't
Where do we go from here - this season is over - will Bates back Warnock ? Will
Warnock actually want to stay ??

In the space of 12 months I have now seen us concede 5, 6 and 7 goals at Elland
Road (Blackpool, Preston and Forest) almost unheard of at any ground !
