One of my fondest memories is sitting in the Bobby Moore stand at Upton Park
watching an O'Leary side thump one of Rednapps 5 - 1 with 3 of theirs being
sent off.
Hasselbaink scored inside 15 seconds, me holding onto my seat to prevent me
giving my presence away. Some others couldn't and got escorted out.

Hey Jezz,

Shame you weren't in the Leeds end that day.
At half-time, West Ham in their wisdom played Kool and the Gang's
"Celebration" for their Hammerettes to dance to.
I doubt they've ever had such enthusiastic audience participation before or
since. I'm pretty sure we kept the "Cel-e-brate Good Times Come On" going
for the whole of the half time.
Other memories would be a pre-match pub meet in Russell Square with Guy. And
Gav as well maybe. Misjudging, as always, how long it takes to get to Upton
Park on the tube and therefore missing Jimmy's goal.
Raymond and his drum in the row behind me...

Tails off in a haze of nostalgia.

John Barber
