My report of the goals was way off - thats the prolem with drinking post match- but I was right in that Pugh was at fault for the goal, along with Brown who sliced a clearane backwards and Pugh was slow to move to it and then fell over trying to hook it away. The time the winger went passed him with ease was later on and did not lead to a goal. Their last minute winner was offside. Our goal did come from a cross from Snoddy but he had beaten the defenders earlier in the move and slipped it through to Clayton whose chip was headed back by Forsell to Snoddy and then the ball went across to Webber to nudge home.
Re Richs report / comments it is hard to disagree with his assessment of Becchio (although he does have one decent quality, the ability to get on the end of things in the 6yd box) Pugh is awful and many fans seem to have turned against him -lads behind me were giving him stick all afternoon and then a couple of lads on the bus back into Leeds spent the whole journey slagging him off I disagree with Rich about White , I think he has flattered to deceive and I will not be sorry if he does not sign his new contract I do not think he will make it as a player. Re Zac Thompson, I thought he did OK but when he was subbed one of my mates shouted 'get off and don't come back'. When I tackled him about that later he reckoned Thompson is a waste of a shirt I found Beckfords 'antics' funny but if I was a Leicester fan I would probably be disgusted and it was no surprise to see him subbed. Rich he left for 5 or 6 times the money and a chance at Premiership football and I, for one, do not blame him I did not bother staying for the 'lap of honour' - most of the team did not deserve cheering for their performances this season and many will not be here next year (hopefully) As for who stays , to be honest apart from maybe Snoddy I would not miss any of them, although Lees and McCormack have not done much wrong and I still (despite some of the evidence) have high hopes for Clayton We need major changes and Colin knows that (his comments about wishing the season over etc have done nothing to help recent performances) it is now a matter of getting Bates to back him with the right signings. I don't watch enough (any) football to know who we should buy but some fans seem to be raving over Pearce, our likely first signing. As for Diouf, I am with Wilko on that one (would sign Ghengis Khan if he improved the defence), I don't care about them as people I only care about their ability (wrong of me on a moral level maybe) and if Colin thnks Diouf is the man for the job then I say 'let's sign him up' Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
