Jeez, 40 f***ing years ago!! That means I was just 16 when I went with my dad and some of his drinking buddies on the Horsforth Town FC minibus. One of the guys managed to get into the dressing room after the game. Later we went into central London, I remember walking through Parliament Square and some Arse fans chucking cans at us. Thankfully a bit better than the following year, my abiding memory of which is driving home up the M1 at 90mph with my dad in the front seat passing the driver a bottle of neat gin of which he (the driver that is) took frequent slugs. Good job I was pissed or I'd have been shitting myself. My fellow passenger in the back seat being a Leeds police sergeant! Cheers

Not only did it rob us of the double we deserved, and give the title to the worms from Derby (& Clough), but it should not be forgotten that it robbed those great players of the chance to savour and celebrate one of their greatest triumphs. But let us not dwell on that, but remember instead WHO PUT THE BALL IN THE ARSENAL NET..............40 years ago today. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
