Seems to me that amongst all the "Becchio is shite/ace - Howson can/can't
dominate a midfield - Johnson is a one footed clogger/competent midfielder"
type arguments, the thing that is overlooked is the 'team' factor. Surely it's
all about the team. The atmosphere the manager sets, the relationships the
players have, the style of play, level of freedom to do what they want they
enjoy. A real concoction, alchemy even, not just the individual talents of
individual players. Hence Johnson being, at times, for us shite (although not
always), but doing a job at Norwich. He has better players around him now yet,
but perhaps he's also in a better 'team' - and perhaps the other ingredients
there suit him better too.

Who's to say that Becchio couldn't go to say Barnsley and score 20 goals in a
season? He could.

Lots of our players go to other teams and do well. Even the ones who we
thought were shite.

But what is depressing about the illusive element of 'team' that I've detailed
above is that I thought that's what Warnock's strength is, getting a bunch of
footballers to play as a team. But he certainly didn't manage to do that at
the end of this season for us. Will he be able to build a 'team' from scatch?
