funny enough - and I know this is going to piss on your chips Rob, so I recognise that before hand - but according to an article I read over the weekend (Guardian or Observer can't remember which) - almost the exact opposite is true.
Bayern a) come from Bavaria, which most of the rest of Germany have big issues with and b) from its inception until the late 1930s it was a predominantly Jewish owned/run club - this led to all the well-documented persecutions of the Nazi state being brought to bear on the board, players and fans of Bayern. In short, Adolf wasn't keen. Added to which they made a fantastic comparison between them and ManU in terms of seat price, ownership by fans (a v high percentage, but I can't remember what) and operating profit...they would seem to be a club run in an exemplary fashion. None of which doesn't mean that they weren't cheating bastards back in '75...
