For what its worth. Some details that sound new or were not in the 'public domain' [WACCOE] I am discounting the rumours that Kuwaiti Sheik is buying Nottingham Forest and suborning Colin. Seems a little wild or if true [which I doubt] make Colin into a rattlesnake.
A CHICAGO-BASED group of investors are in talks to take control of Leeds. The mystery American consortium want to buy a controlling stake in the Championship outfit after holding talks about a takeover last week. They visited England last Thursday and were shown around Elland Road and the Yorkshire club’s high-tech Thorp Arch training complex. Now they want to push through a deal which would free up the funds for boss Neil Warnock to build a side capable of returning to the Premier League. Leeds have been financially stable since controversial chairman Ken Bates bought the club seven years ago. But his perceived reluctance to invest in new signings has turned fans against him and there were ‘Bates out’ protests by supporters as Leeds ended the season in 14th place. The former Chelsea supremo, 80, holds a 72.85 per cent controlling interest, but Leeds have been seeking major investment for months. In a statement last night, the club said: “We can confirm talks are taking place regarding investment for the long-term future. “The club has always publicly stated it would welcome potential investment, but has maintained a belief whereby the quality of the investor is the most important factor.” Dr Michael Benjamin, Community Psychiatrist ------------------------------- myRay: On-line Self-Help CBT http://www.myRay.com http://www.myRay.org ------------------------------ Mental Health: http//www.MyDoctorExplains.com -------------------------------- Auditing || Quality Control http://www.MyDoctorExplains.com/alamo/ -------------------------------- Blog: http://www.DrMichaelBenjamin.com _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
