Heyup lad, sorry, yes I did disappear but yet again I have a very poorly close relative who is probably not going to see the month out. Family first I say.
Lister and Lards Back Room genius, Dave Dowden who first told me about the rumour had no further information and unusually none of my reliable sources could confirm things one way or another.
However the club statement that due diligence is taking place, and that the "investors" are fit and proper suggests that it is a sale and that Bates as usual is unwilling to say that. But hey we are where we are.
All I can say is that this is a very good statement in my mind as the club are being polite, a sure sign that Bates has been told NOT to piss anyone off as per usual. He has been very quiet recently hasn't he?
I promise if I get any more guff I'll put it here first as I am 100% Leeds List me :-)
One thing I can say is that my investment banker pal who knows about these things is confident that LUFC is a good buy for anyone with vision and liquidity but anyone hoping to make a quick buck would fall at the first hurdle as Bates always wants to see proof of money up front in a bank account, which makes emminenet sense to me.
I've certainly got my fingers crossed and would consider returning to row W if Bates is out of the frame.
