Superb indeed.
If not a great tour then a great winner (can't claim that as mine, heard it
from Eddie
Merckx yesterday).

Did see the earlier mails but never got round to responding then. There's a
group of us,
cycling enthusiasts and (ex)listers - Da Rev, Jabba, Wiggy, Matt, Mike& Claire
and more -
who've had our own mailing group for the years so we can talk about Le Tour and
other
things cycling, Grand Tours, one day classics, track, etc. Some of us have got
tickets for
the Veledrome for the Olympics and Paralympics, also volunteers/marshalls for
the road
races.

A fascinating tour, and not just for the way Sky controlled it but Wiggo was
outstanding,
Cav up to his best considering most of the time he was having to do it himself
with a train
to lead him out and Froome showing how good he is and the Vuleta last year
wasn't a one
off. When I said 'if not a great tour' that's thinking for the absence of the
likes of Contador
and Andy Schleck. Next year should be interesting when they're back, plus the
route
probably won't be so favourable for Wiggo as this year. The two long time
trials where
certainly in his favour. Even if not great still good and entertaining as
always. I went down
for La Grand Depart and had a great three days. Sagan looked good then and you
could
see he was going to be a challenge to Cav.

Did like Wiggo's quip on the podium yesterday about "now time to draw the
raffle". Not
certain about Lesley Garrett's 'God save the Queen' though. To much like the
Last Night
of the Proms. Half expected Land of Hope and Glory to come next. Anyone
interested in
wanting to know more about Wiggo check out the idiosyncratic "The Extraordinary
Rise of
Bradley Wiggins in 21 photos" on http://inrng.com/. There's also a piece on
Chris Froome.

Now bring on the Olympics for road, TT and track medals, and then the World
Championships in Valkenburg in September.
