Dave,

sorry to bring you back down to earth.

Bates clearly wants to sell the club for as much possible with a minimum of
input from him. It is the loyalty of our supporters that have made him look
like he is managing us well because we continue to turn up in our numbers
paying inflated prices for what has been a v poor product. LUST has shown that
he has basically diverted money made on players to invest in bricks & mortar
which he continues to insist are not owned by him. Just like if you or I were
renting a property we would invest lots of money in it to increase the value
for the owner.

The bottom line is that Bates will not pay big money transfers and our wages
are not attractive to the better players. If Pompey hadnt gone tits up do you
really think Colin would have got players of that quality from anywhere else?

Speaking of which I thought Pearce was excellent last night, Diouf is class and
Austin always puts in a shift. Kenny is the best keeper outside the PL.

If Colin is not allowed to bring in cover for McCormack I think he will go and
I don't think any of us can blame him. Bates knew he wasnt a yes man when he
appointed him so he should back him with whatever resources he needs.

God help us on Saturday.

Phill

To be honest I was quite drunk last night but I did enjoy it -maybe my
expectations are just so low these days!
I agree re Warnock, his comments about not being allowed to bring in anyone on
even a short team loan to cover for Ross does have an element of the 'final
straw'
I think he was promised backing from Bates /new owners and it has not been
forthcoming. He really wants to get that one last promotion for his cv and
wants it to be with us but it looking less and less likely now.
I really cannot understand why we can't seem to compete with anyone in this
league givne that we are allegedly debt free and must bring in more money than
an yone else with our crowds and the prices we pay.I know some have sugar daddy
owners a la Cardiff or Prem parachute payments but the latter also have palyers
on massive (for Championship ) wages. The only reason I can think of is Bates -
surely he must go and go soon.
I think Colin also expected to be playing to almost full houses not the 19k we
had last night (yes I know that it was one of the biggest crowds of the night
but not good for Leeds United) and that is another thing that will be upsetting
him - he absolutely (and quite rightly) raves over our unparalled away support.
Dodgy times indeed down in LS11 with no light at the end of the tunnel in sight.
Dave

Dave,

I always enjoy your match reports but I think you may have had your beer
goggles on last night mate.

More worrying was Colin's behaviour last night. He was very subdued on the the
touchline and looked thoroughly pissed off. Me thinks he might be off.
