I had no internet access yesterday (thanks BT and rain) so no full report. However I could not let such a great performance and result go without any comment. I also assume that most on here managed to catch it on TV. As I posted pre match , I went with no great hopes and would have been happy at givng them a game for 75 mins and then losing 2 0. In the event the result was beyond belief and even better, we throughly deserved it. Douf and Austin showed they could play at a higher level, Byram showed what a great future he may have (subject to keeping fit and not getting carried away) Tonge showed that he does have something to offer us. White had perhaps his best game for us and with a bit of luck his goal will really kick start his stuttering career with us - he took it with such aplomb. Both Brown and Ashdown showed, on this performance, that both can be relied on if needed during the course of the season. Pearce with his headband showed that he has all the heart and guts that we want in a centre half. So all in all a great performance and given the size of the crowd (16k Leeds fans) it was great to know that is was those of us who went who 'won' - too often with these games it is the 'stay at homes' who got the better of the deal ! Let's just hope we can kick on from this result and not go the same way we did after the result at Old Trafford ! A great 11minute long - starting on 11th minute- tribute to Gary Speed was brilliant (even if I did not agree with it happening really) With the news that Ken is on his way out may mean more money for Colin (all being well) but whatever happens at least, on a shoe string, Colin has given us a team to be proud of and get behind - like Becchio they are not the greatest but at least, like him, they all give 100% every game (Wolves Hull and Forest games have shown me that) and as fans that is all you can really ask for Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
